New Delhi Architecture Walking Tours
New images of major buildings in the capital city of India. The city is the seat of executive, legislative, and judiciary branches of the Government of India. Architect Edwin Lutyens collaborated with Herbert Baker in building the city. Key buildings include the Lotus Temple, Red Fort, President’s House and the Qutub Minar. Famous architects with buildings in the city include Morphogenesis and Kerry Hill Architects.

Hardscape design: Odyssey

Odyssey was responsible for the Hardscape at the Hyatt Regency Pune. The principal architects Bilkey Linas Design and Landscape architect Joel Burega envisioned a tropical feel for the external area of the hotel. Odyssey was involved in the stonework for various elements of the building including its landscape.

M:OFA designs a true Agro Resort. The design intent was to give a firsthand experience of countryside living to the urban travelers and sensitize them to the idea of living with nature, effectively utilizing resources and minimizing waste. Apart from being amidst nature in the cottages that resonate the local materials expressed in a contemporary design, the program also includes an animal farm with poultry, cattle, goats, fish and even an elephant for the rides around the forest.

India in its last ten years has seen a new business environment, where the younger generation is no longer threatened by the western big brothers. They embrace the traditional business idioms, while continuously flying across international waters, marrying the two together at every step; an image of a head soaring high up in the sky with its feet trudging a solid, leveled ground.

Nagaur Fort Rehabilitation
The project for rehabilitation of this building, involving the training of many artisanal craftsmen, adhered to principles of minimum intervention. Materials and construction methods of an earlier era were rediscovered, paintings and architectural features conserved, and the historic pattern of access through seven successive gates re-created.

The project is a part of a business hotel (Not classified in Star category), in a tier 3 city in the country, which has been redesigned by the firm as repositioning exercise. The strategy was to create a new identity to the already popular restaurant through interior architecture, making it a new destination dining in the city to spur the business of the hotel.

The project brief calls for the refurbishment and interiors of a 40-year-old heritage hotel: the original planning of the building is contemporary in nature but is infused with traditional motifs. The architectural intent and the design approach behind the refurbishment of the hotel follows a similar thought process, embracing both tradition and modernity simultaneously.
