This project involved a significant addition and renovation to a 4-bedroom home originally completed in 2005. After the original client passed ownership on to his daughter and son-in-law, the residence underwent a transformation that not only expanded its capacity but also redefined its connection to the natural surroundings.

Jahn has completed the state-of-the-art facility to house and expand the collections of the Pritzker Military Museum & Library. The library relocated its operations from Chicago to the new Archives Center in Somers, a village in Kenosha County approximately 30 miles outside of Milwaukee.

Together with the Milwaukee Public Museum, Ennead Architects and Kahler Slater today unveiled the design for the new 200,000 sqft museum building, set on a 2.4 acre site in the burgeoning Haymarket neighborhood of Milwaukee. Four core principles influenced the design – community, nature, education, and the preservation of the museum’s vast collections. The new building is slated to break ground in late 2023 and open in 2026.

The brief for Haas Valley Farm was to design a weekend getaway for a Chicago area family on property that has been in their extended family for generations. Tall and thin, the Haas Valley Farm Residence perches on its site which is centered in the Driftless Area, a small pocket of the Midwest so named because the glaciers skipped over the region, leaving a surprising landscape of rolling hills and deep valleys bisected by the Mississippi River.

Even though the project could not make it to the shortlist; the design studio reckon the entry as a significant work in the studio’s oeuvre, as the proposal successfully translates a difficult & abstract idea into an absorbing experiential architecture.

Brittlebush was developed as a design-build experience for Simón De Agüero, graduate student, designer, and project manager. The design is an experimental desert dwelling for winter residents at Taliesin, the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture. Simón envisioned the design to be an open-air living space with protective roof and walls for the sleeping area.
