Unquera Parish Center – Church of the Holy Martyrs
The program was organized in a rectangular plant of extreme proportions, differentiating the functional areas. We access the building through a footbridge to the luminous lobby, that articulates the spaces and serves as meeting area.

Overlooking the perfected landscape of the PGA golf course we described a simple arced line in the landscape. This line of local Catalan stone creates a strong visual and structural anchor throughout the site for the contemporary house design, as sculpture in the landscape.

The Pormetxeta Square, was the result of the “Europan VI” competition of 2001. The project was selected to take part in the Spanish Architecture Exhibition “On Site” that was organized at MoMA in New York in 2006; afterwards the exhibited model was acquired by the museum.

The structure of the building is developed itself as a flower, as a natural fact, subscribing to Oscar Niemeyer’s approach. The whole project has been composed in the concept of “how to build in natural landscape?” and “what is the appropriate “weight” of a construction of this scale?”

The increasing growth of the Technology Park on the outskirts of Valencia resulted in a pressing need for easily accessible day care facilities for employees’ children. Therefore the Spanish firm Foursquare Arquitectos were commissioned to design a new Children’s Education and Innovation Centre within the grounds.

This building houses a 25-meter indoor swimming pool, a sports court and a football pitch. The land is sloping, therefore the project responds to this location by generating terraces.

Instead of the image of an hermetic pavilion, here the intention is to give continuity from the inside space to the outside one. The building is implemented to bury the court and the locker rooms.

The intervention takes place in a park area in which the expectations of the original project didn’t reach the estimated reactions. It left a marginal area due to the original proposal, a huge “crater” 40 meter diameter and 1,20 m deep, with no other treatment but the concrete block paving.

Centro Cívico en Palencia
The former Palencia Provincial Prison complex was created at the end of the XIX century, built with brick bearing walls following the “neomudéjar” style, and composed mainly of four two-storey wings and some other with one storey. On this building was planned a comprehensive refurbishment to transform the former use and convert it into a center that promotes the social and cultural activity in this part of the town.

A museum that wishes to transmit the entire history of Andalusia. As early as Roman times, Strabo described the inhabitants of Andalusia as “the most cultivated of the Iberians, who have laws in verse.”
