55 Hudson Yards is the second office tower to be completed and the shortest skyscraper of Phase I at Hudson Yards.
Rising 51 stories tall. The 780 feet high building is designed by architects Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF). The developers are Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group Inc.
The high-rise building is the 21st-tallest tower in the Five Boroughs. The tower is the 74th tallest building in the USA.
It topped out around 18 months after steel construction started in Spring 2016. The only section of the building yet to be completed and enclosed is the crown. The development contains 1.3 million sqft of space set on a 40,000 square foot block.

Manhattan’s first major casualty of Chinese capital crackdown:
The site for 118 East 59th Street, Midtown East, has been cleared of previous buildings that once stood, and is a partially excavated pit, report YIMBY. Permits for the 470-foot high, 38-story residential tower were filed back in September 2014. SCDA is designing both the exterior and the interiors. Architect of Record is SLCE Architects. The 29 residential units are expected to be around 2,400 sqft each. The developer of the project is Hong Kong-based Euro Properties.

YIMBY report a similar situation at 131-141 East 47th Street where another tower appears to be stalled: it is likely also due to Chinese capital outflow restrictions. The site for the 49-story, 122-unit residential tower was cleared but remains dormant since 2016. Developer for the 151,013 sqft building is New Empire Real Estate, with SLCE Architects. Proposed height is 581 feet.

The synagogue currently occupies the lower portions of a mixed-use building, but will expand vertically to include new educational areas and meeting spaces.

The building’s 75th Street frontage will receive new facade treatments comprised of limestone and multi-colored glass panels.
Interior project scope includes the relocation of existing worship spaces to improve usability and to maximize capacity, a new expandable chapel, and easier access to outdoor areas.
