UN North Delegates Lounge : OMA – 19 Dec

Located near the General Assembly and with a view of the East River, the lounge has been used since 1952 by policymakers and diplomats from the UN’s member states. OMA is working with an interdisciplinary team including designer Hella Jongerius, graphic designer Irma Boom, artist Gabriel Lester and theorist Louise Schouwenberg.
Columbia Business School Building : UNStudio – 8 Nov

Student work-study spaces and faculty divisional spaces are concentrated in plan and section to promote collaboration across all disciplines. In addition, the spaces are connected vertically within a series of voids and internal staircases, and paralleled on several floors in one intensified zone. Both formal and informal interactions and encounters are encouraged throughout the design.
Williamsburg Hotel, Brooklyn, NY : Oppenheim Architecture+Design – 31 Oct

The Williamsburg hotel attempts to capture the essence of this vibrant neighborhood. Adjacent to both the Williamsburg Bridge and the historic Williamsburg Savings Bank, the building, expresses itself as three dramatically proportioned, rectilinear volumes of varied height and materiality.
