We’ve selected what we feel are the key German Buildings, in chronological order:
Altes Museum, Berlin (1833)

Einstein Tower, Potsdam (1924)
Chilehaus, Hamburg (1924)
National Gallery Berlin (1968)
Museum für Kunsthandwerk, Frankfurt (1985)
Jewish Museum Berlin (1995)
BMW Central Building, Leipzig (2005)
Phaeno Science Centre Buildings, Wolfsburg (2006)

BMW Welt – Event + Delivery, Munich (2007)
Mercedes-Benz Museum Building, Stuttgart (2008) – Hugo-Haring Prize
Porsche Museum Building, Stuttgart (2009)
Comments on the German buildings selection welcome. These buildings are not selected due to their fame – we’ve left out the Berlin Olympic Stadium, Neues Museum, Commerzbank Tower and the Dutch Embassy Berlin – but because each design in its way achieved a milestone and signified strong creative achievement.
