Mercedes Museum Stuttgart
In the Mercedes-Benz Museum the architect studio do exactly the same as Bernini and Brancusi did, but on a larger scale. They integrate the pedestal into the architecture. Instead of individual plinths, in the Legend Rooms the design studio have made semi-circular ramps to generate different perspectives. The structure was awarded a Hugo-Häring Prize in the category Guter Bauten, for the region.

This bold design expresses the famous German car company’s self-confident stance and high standards in architectural terms. It also tries to convey the firm’s dynamism and vitality. The gravity-defying, monolithic structure tseems to hover above the folded topography of the lower levels.
