Construction has restarted on the Clare County Library in Ennis, Co Clare, in mid-west Ireland. Stalled for many months following the collapse of the main contractor LM Keating, the project is once again underway with new contractor Coolsivna from Co. Galway appointed following a public re-tender.

Out of 37 schemes that were entered for the RSUA Design Awards in 2018, 21 have been shortlisted for further consideration for an award. The winners of this year’s RSUA Design Awards will be announced at a ceremony on 18th May 2018 at the Whitla Hall, Queen’s University Belfast.

Adare Manor, Co Limerick’s world-famous hotel and golf resort, has re-opened its doors after a multi-million-euro redevelopment led by ReardonSmith Architects. This included the design of new buildings as well as the restoration and refurbishment of existing properties, with the repair and enhancement of the surrounding 840-acre estate designed by ReardonSmith Landscape.

The £75m state-of-the-art building in County Tyrone is the first of its kind in Northern Ireland. Sitting on a greenfield site on the outskirts of the town, this innovative scheme replaces the previous 118-year old Tyrone County Hospital, delivered under a three-year contract by local contractor McLaughlin & Harvey.
