The future society will be a society of knowledge. However this knowledge can hardly be split into clearly defined fields. Innovations develop within interspaces, within indistinctness, within the overlapping and hybridising. Questions regarding the future will be decided within transitional fields situated between technology, biology and ethics that are the central themes of the Musée des Confluences.

This design has been selected as the winning entry from a shortlist of 6 finalists which included, among others, BIG Architects, Juergen Mayer H Architects and Schneider + Schumacher Architects. UNStudio worked in collaboration with OR else Landscapes on the design for the 18,500 sqm residential and office building which incloudes a 60m high tower.

Westminster City Council has granted planning consent for the recladding and remodelling of 20 Grosvenor Hill. The building is owned by Grosvenor Britain & Ireland (Grosvenor), which was assisted with its planning application by architects TateHindle. The ground and first floor will become a new Gagosian Gallery.

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat convened its Height Committee on November 8th in Chicago to evaluate its criteria for determining the official height of buildings, and to rule on the official height of One World Trade Center in New York.

Modern Seaweed House, Denmark
On the small island of Læsø in Denmark, a several hundred-year-old building style has formed the basis on which a new holiday house has been built – the Modern Seaweed House. The house is designed by Vandkunsten firm of architects and developed by Realdania Byg as a holiday house built in wood, covered and insulated with seaweed.

“Poczekalnia”, which in Polish means “Waiting Room”, is a restaurant inspired by the prison (well why not?). Not only the interior but also the name of the restaurant itself is a kind of metaphor, because the prison itself can be euphemistically described as a kind of waiting room.

Occupying a lot at Alameda Jaú in the Jardins district, in São Paulo, Brazil, Deliqatê is a restaurant specialized in gourmet sandwiches and is the first enterprise from this group of investors whose intention is to take it to other capital cities in the country.
