Stefan cel Mare Building in Bucharest

Until 2006 the site located at the intersection between B. Mumuleanu and Tunari Street was a neighborhood vulcanization shop for cars. Between 2006 – and February 2015 the site was empty and people were mistakenly using it as a place for garbage.

For an architect, the challenge is the fuel that subtle keeps him alive. The architects had a vague idea about what it meant accepting the challenge to design a shelter at 2,100 m within a restricted budget, especially since they asked to build it themselves.

Bucharest Apartment Building

One of the most important and problematic aspects of nowadays Bucharest is the fast densification of the central area.
The building searches to preserve, at its own scale, the porosity and “profoundness” of the deep, narrow plots, while also trying to capture part of the “collage”-like appearance of the surroundings.

Located about 230 km northwest of Bucharest, on Olt Valley, the hills of Dragasani – an old winemaking tradition area – AVINCIS ensemble comprises: a mansion, a winery composed of two buildings (A and B) and the park.

The concept is based on contextual integration into the public spaces of the park and green sports axis along the river Somes. The main design driver is the transparency as dissolved boundaries and visual connexions outside in and inside out.
