The EXO, Dublin 1
The landmark EXO building by Shay Cleary Architects is the tallest commercial office building in Ireland. A unique engineering challenge, the building features a distinctive and highly innovative external exo-skeleton which forms the main structure, leaving a predominantly column free floor plate and referencing the iconic blue gantries of the Dublin docklands.

Sport Ireland Campus Dublin Masterplan
The Government of Ireland has endorsed the mixed-use masterplan vision for the development of the Sport Ireland campus in western Dublin. Taoiseach Micheál Martin unveiled the masterplan designed by FaulknerBrowns Architects, which incorporates proposals for athlete accommodation, workplaces, cultural buildings and major new sports facilities, including plans for Ireland’s first indoor velodrome.

This property is a small, mid-19th century protected structure located on St Stephen’s Green South in the centre of Dublin, with fantastic views over the Green and to the wider city centre area. The building was constructed with the adjoining former Methodist Centenary Church of 1842-43.

Meeting House Lane Hotel
Plans by London architects Studio Anyo for a new €15 million boutique hotel and leisure facility in the heart of Dublin will go ahead after the project got the green light following an appeal. The move will see a 65-bedroomed hotel with rooftop bar, mezzanine and basement, together with ancillary facilities, created on Meeting House Lane in the north west corner of the city.

New homes in Cherrywood
Fletcher Priest’s design for 488 new homes in Cherrywood, an urban village to the south of Dublin, received planning permission earlier this month. Fletcher Priest also led the masterplan for the wider site, which will create a community of 1,300 homes for Quintain Ireland. The project has been developed in collaboration with Dublin-based architects Urban Agency and O’Mahony Pike with landscape by Grant Associates.

Designed by Shay Cleary Architects, Blackpitts Student Accommodation / The Tannery is a complex urban student housing scheme, located in the Liberties area of Dublin 8 which is currently undergoing extensive urban regeneration. The site is bounded to the east by Blackpitts, to the north by a new pedestrian street which it shares with a new hotel and to the west by the boundary wall to the adjoining Warrenmount Convent.

The Wren Urban Nest Dublin 2 Hotel
The newly opened Wren Urban Nest, based in the heart of Dublin, is a 137-room, nine floor hotel designed and built using the most advanced carbon reduction technologies, making it one of Europe’s most sustainable hotels in a major city centre. Eliminating the need for fossil fuels, the building uses 100% renewable energy and is the first hotel in Ireland to comply with the World Green Building Council’s definition of ‘Net Zero Operational Carbon’, without having to purchase carbon offsets.

Atkins has been working on a major facelift to Terminal 1 at Dublin Airport under plans that have been lodged this month with Fingal County Council. The design will replace the core façade and roof with a new modern, energy efficient envelope that will completely transform the external appearance of the terminal, giving it a new visual identity.

Ballymun Boilerhouse Rediscovery Centre
The project gives a new life to Ballymun’s old Boiler House and creates a National Centre of Excellence in Education for Sustainable development. The building previously housed four 35 tonne boilers that provided district heating and hot water to the local public housing scheme realised in the 60’s and subsequently demolished.
