The Glenorchy Health Centre is the first of its building type in Tasmania. A collaboration between LIMINAL Architecture with clinical planning specialists DesignInc, the Centre incorporates a range of integrated health services to address the diverse and increasing health demands of the suburbs just north of Hobart, Tasmania.

New football club Change Rooms to be flexible to incorporate amenities for local junior clubs, state league city club, AFLW and AFL. The existing Devonport stadium club rooms had inadequate amenities for a growing club, non standard facilities for AFL/ AFLW games and structural columns that obstructed pre game preparation.

This new Tasmanian building is located on a remnant internal block in inner Hobart, Tasmania, surrounded by nine neighbours. The property folds it’s way across and down the site, creating private outside and inside spaces for clients that were as focused on the garden as they were on their new home.

‘De-clutter my life!’ was the overriding theme to Studio Ilk Architecture + Interiors’ client’s brief. Riverview House had to have a place for everything and the provision to conceal the ordinary items of daily life to give a sense of calm and space, to provide the feeling of being in a holiday home.

Studio Ilk Architecture + Interiors’ brief for Huon Barn House was to create a robust home for a growing family using simple forms and rustic materials while allowing for the client, a carpenter/joiner to take ownership of much of the fabrication himself. The simple detailing and forms expand upon the unpretentious farmhouse vernacular and adapt the arrangement to create a series of flexible spaces for living.

A distinctive gateway to Hobart, commemorating the fallen. Thousands attended the Anzac Day dawn service in Hobart, the first commemoration to be held since completion of the Bridge of Remembrance which links two of the city’s most significant public spaces – the Cenotaph and Soldiers Memorial Avenue on the Queens Domain.

The project involved the adaptive reuse of Pumphouse Point into a wilderness retreat. The existing heritage listed, art-deco style buildings – ‘The Pumphouse’ and ‘The Shorehouse’ – were constructed in the 1940s as part of Tasmania’s hydro electric scheme and are positioned within the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.
