Newcastle United Stadium
Sports and leisure specialist GT3 Architects has led an internal design review, reimagining a state-of-the-art training academy and community-driven stadium for Newcastle United. Building on the company’s ‘people architecture’ ethos, the project is the first of several in-house design reviews, exploring how people-centric design can tackle cultural and socio-economic challenges, such as driving inward investment and economic footfall, getting more people active, supporting an aging population, and achieving net-zero targets.

Dogger Bank Wind Farm Operations and Maintenance Base
The developers of the Dogger Bank Wind Farm have revealed the design for the multi million pound Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Base, that will serve the world’s biggest offshore wind farm. Subject to planning approval, the base will be constructed in the Port of Tyne. It will serve as the main hub for operating the wind farm which when complete will be capable of powering 6m homes.

Newcastle City Council has approved plans submitted by FaulknerBrowns Architects, on behalf of PegasusLife, for a scheme which represents a new approach to later living in the city. This will be the developer’s first scheme north of Manchester, and their first collaboration with FaulknerBrowns.

Initial plans for Newcastle University’s £58 million Urban Sciences Building are being unveiled today ahead of a public consultation this evening. Housing the University’s world-class School of Computing Science, the development will be at the forefront of urban innovation and includes a public performance space, a decision theatre for the visualisation and interpretation of urban data and a rooftop wild-flower meadow.

BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art are pleased to announce the first UK presentation of Jasmina Cibic’s latest NADA film trilogy (9 February – 28 May 2018). For This Machine Builds Nations, Cibic has developed a site-specific installation, showcasing the three NADA moving-image works, as well as a performative installation, Show the Land in Which a Wide Space for National Progress is Ensured.
