Johor Corporation’s (JCorp) wholly owned investee company, JLand Group Sdn Bhd (JLG), have announced a pioneering collaboration with Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) to develop the mixed-use 582-acre Discovery City precinct within Ibrahim Technopolis (IBTEC), the 7,290-acre township in Johor, Malaysia.

The alterations and additions to the Monterez Bungalow presented us with a few challenges to tackle up front. Located on a steep slope facing an impressive view over a golf course in a suburban area outside Kuala Lumpur, the house was built over inadequate foundation, with weak retaining support.

The directors of e-architect, Adrian Welch and Isabelle Lomholt, toured Malaysia and Singapore, visiting the capital KL, the island of Penang, Kota Bahru, the Perhentian Islands, Cherating, Kuantan, Kota Tinggi, Johor Bahru and Malacca. We met up with Malaysian & Chinese developers and architects and visited key buildings. We were delighted to visit inside Sri Mahamariamman Temple, KL, and inside the Kuantan Mosque on the east coast, a beautiful building dating from 1991.
