Tucked within the bustling heart of Kuala Lumpur, Over & Above Club is the transformation of a once-forgotten row of old shophouses into a singular, unified nightlife destination. What was previously six separate buildings has been carefully refurbished and merged into one expansive venue, redefining the spirit of adaptive reuse in the city.

Working closely with architects and specialist consultants, the project involved a complete reworking of floor levels and the introduction of new I-beam steel structures. This structural overhaul allowed the creation of a dramatic double-volume interior, establishing the spatial clarity and scale necessary for an immersive club experience.

The overall look adapts the industrial style of the existing buildings, embracing raw finishes, exposed steel, and warehouse-like proportions. This aesthetic is both authentic and deliberate, retaining the memory of the original architecture while amplifying it with contemporary interventions.

Central to the design is a major lighting installation — a striking composition of luminous tubes suspended across the main hall. Conceived in collaboration with a Russian lighting artist studio, the installation becomes both artwork and atmosphere, transforming the space into a kinetic environment where architecture and light converge.

Over & Above Club is more than a venue; it is a celebration of contrasts — old and new, structure and spectacle, permanence and ephemerality — brought together to shape one of Kuala Lumpur’s most dynamic nightlife experiences.
