The building´s main facade faces the highway and it is the same facade that faces the northwest sun, which is really hot in Brazil. The windows on this facade were designed to never be hit by direct sunlight: all the light that enters this facade is indirect.

“La Ville Intelligente was conceived as a future ‘Paris’ or structure into which arteries are connected to a metropolis of the future … entering and exiting into a new space where people can rediscover within an urban network, peripheries, streets, places … A new urban scenography of networks, furniture and objects.”

Moshe Safdie has introduced a strong and distinctive stepping form for the condominium, moving past the traditional approach of deploying individual towers to create a three-dimensional matrix of homes, private terraces and public gardens. His design provides for lush vertical greenery, optimal orientation relative to the sun, naturally ventilated units, and generous views.
Maison Louis Carré, Bazoches-sur-Guyonne, France : Alvar Aalto

Louis Carré said he wanted “a house that was small on the outside and big on the inside“ (interview, op. cit.). When entering the main hall, the wooden vault creates a striking effect towering first at 5metres before bowing softly towards the steps that lead to the living room.
Hotel nhow Berlin, Germany : nps tchoban voss

The structure of the building and the façade design refer to the situation of the building. A huge cantilevered cube cites the motif of a crane cabin, whereas the façade’s surface mingles into the ubiquitous brown stone materiality at the formerly important city harbor of Osthafen.
