La Cavale winery, Luberon, south of France
Design: Jean-Michel Wilmotte – Wilmotte & Associés
La Cavale is located in Cucuron (Regional Natural Park of Luberon) near Aix en Provence in Southern France.
The building was designed and built by Jean-Michel Wilmotte, one of the most famous French architects.
La Cavale sell wines from other countries in their 500 m² wine shop in addition to their own, such as from Chateau Cheval Blanc (de Portzemparc), Almaviva, Petra (Mario Botta), Opus One (John Fain), Cavalli (Bouwer) and we are continuing our acquisitions with Marques de Riscal (Gerhy).
The materials used in this building were:
– Luberon stones covering the surface of the main wall came from the Saint Pantaleon quarry (North face)
– black zinc siding covers the remainder of the building
– a scraped coating covering the extensions
– the main supporting horizontal beam is in steel (north face), same for the glass façade of the entrance and the carpentry and the main ‘cap’ which protects the southern side from the wind”.

Swiss Wine Museum
Creating new architecture in a UNESCO World heritage site. The Museum wants to be a small iconic object in a great iconic landscape; without being in competition but rather feeding each other. The integration of the Museum is contextual and regional without falling into a banal mimesis or a fearful disappearance; it is in the order of the experienced observer, of the deep sensibility and of the advanced intellectual exercise. It is in the order of the nature of things.

La Grajera en Logroño, La Rioja, Spain
Design: Virai arquitectos

La Grajera en Logroño
In the estate of La Grajera, west of the city of Logroño and only a few yards from the Camino de Santiago, we find the Institutional Winery of La Grajera. The building seeks an equilibrium between the need to announce the presence of the winery and the desire to merge with the landscape : the volumes follow the deformations of the land and are interrupted, moving towards the forest, remaining close to its border and thus respecting the existing vegetation.
