Guimarães House

House in Guimarães

650 square meters were needed to solve all the requirements of the owner. The house would have to be spread over three floors in order to adjust to about 10 meters in height difference between the extremes of the longitudinal field. The landscape was nice. Oriented to west and with a large panoramic through the city of Guimarães, would make sense to use this attributes to favor the social and private areas exploring natural light and a view from this privileged orientation.

On the ground floor is the larger enjoyable area of plot, where we can find the living and dining rooms, the kitchen and the pool deck, always with the possibility of merge the interior space with outer space by moving the slinding doors.

On the middle floor is the sleeping rooms and the highest floor works likes the main access to the house. Here is the office and an outdoor balcony that enjoys the best view of the whole building.

The dark gray color applied to the building volumes fall it in the surroundings and the interior courtyards transform its mass in contemplative zones.

Somados todos requisitos do proprietário, eram aproximadamente 650, os metros quadrados de habitação que teriam de se repartir por 3 pisos a fim de resolver os cerca de 10 metros de diferença de cota entre os extremos longitudinais do terreno. O terreno era bom. Orientado a poente e com uma larga panorâmica da cidade de Guimarães. Fazia sentido tirar partido deste argumento e favorecer as zonas sociais e zonas privadas principais com a luz e a vista proveniente desta orientação.

No piso térreo encontrava-se a maior área de terreno utilizável, como tal é aí que se localizam as salas cozinha e o deck da piscina sempre com a possibilidade de fazer com que o espaço interior e exterior destas se fundam com o movimento dos vãos. No piso intermédio estão os quatro quartos da casa e o piso mais elevado funciona como o acesso principal da casa quer pedonal quer rodoviário. Aqui colocamos também o escritório e uma varanda exterior que usufrui da melhor vista de todo o edifício.

O cinza dos volumes integram o edifício na envolvente e os pátios interiores transformam a sua massa em zonas contemplativas.
