Dominvs Group has received resolution to grant for a 713-bed purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in Hammersmith. Permission had previously been granted in December 2020 to deliver two new hotels on the site. However, following strong demand from Higher Education Institutions, the north of the site has been revised to provide high-quality PBSA.

St Paul’s Girl’s School
Jestico + Whiles receive planning approval for a new masterplan for St. Paul’s Girls’ School in Hammersmith. The scheme, which will be delivered in phases, consists of two new buildings and the reconfiguration and refurbishment of the Grade II listed Main Building, which knits the school’s campus on Brook Green into a cohesive whole.

This mid-terrace Victorian house in Brook Green was reconfigured and extended to create a dramatic vertical space. An opening was formed in the floor at raised ground level, connecting the reception rooms with the kitchen and dining room below. A new douglas fir stair descends through this double-height volume, and the lowest three steps form part of the precast concrete work surface.

King Street Regeneration Hammersmith
Hammersmith & Fulham Council approved this £150m regeneration scheme, from King Street Developments Hammersmith – a joint venture between Helical Bar and Grainger, at a meeting on 12 Nov. The development includes 196 new homes; a three-screen community cinema; new retail, restaurant and cafe space; replacement offices for the council and a new town square.

Located on a site adjacent to the Hammersmith & City line station and immediately to the north of Lyric Square, the scheme comprises two office buildings providing 275,000 sq ft of office accommodation, as well as restaurants, cafés and a significant new public realm.

Paul McAneary Architects responded to the brief by demolishing the existing 1980’s rear extension to the property that was crumbling and dilapidated. The new extension is added by a clean and clearly defined line to the rear that respects its heritage and gives this house a unique, uniform aesthetic.
