National Olympic Committee House Tbilisi
This work represents the idea of dynamics in sport with the abstract compositions of the staircase and the reception table. The first object you encounter is the introverted desk with its never-ending fissure, and then you meet the extroverted staircase – like the open path to Olympus, where the summit meets its own reflection, inferring that striving never ends, that there is no limit to human achievement.

UNStudio‘s design for the new Transfer Terminal and Air Traffic Control Tower for Kutaisi Airport was officially presented yesterday by the President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili. Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili, who personally demolished one of the walls of the old airport yesterday announced, “We will build an international airport here, which will take aircraft from Munich, Rome, Baku and other cities as of next year.”

The new built airport is part of Georgia’s ambitious plans to develop tourism in Mestia. The beautiful medieval town with its stone defensive towers is part of UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites and also famous as ski-resort.

A two-floor roof top ANNE SEMONIN spa and wellness facility and the roof top Oxygen Bar provide stunning views over the city of Tbilisi and to the Caucasus. A two-level Casino Iveria is affiliated to the hotel.

Sarpi Border Checkpoint
Designed by J. MAYER H. architects the customs checkpoint is situated at the Georgian border to Turkey, at the shore of the Black Sea. With its cantilevering terraces, the tower is used as a viewing platform, with multiple levels overlooking the water and the steep part of the coastline.

The appointment from the Cartu Group – one of the biggest business holdings in Georgia – will begin with a study looking into the feasibility of retaining and refurbishing parts of the large Soviet-built 1960s hospital, against that of a complete new build of about 46,000 sqm.
