The client is a Finnish craft producer of spirits that started from scratch but is rapidly expanding after winning several international prizes including the best gin & tonic in 2015. The fame resulted in huge demand for the world’s northern most gin and whisky distillery’s products.

The glazed East facade works as a mirror-like surface absorbing the atmospheric views of the lake and creating an all-encompassing natural environment. Generous naturally aged wooden terraces surround the villa for comfortable use of outdoor spaces.

The owner of a beautiful plot stuck between a mountain forest and a lake in Finland wanted a house with a distinctive character. The clients wanted the comfort of a contemporary lifestyle and, at the same time, establish a tight connection with the strong and beautiful natural features of the site. A solution was found in a wooden building designed around a pure geometric shape.
