CTBUH 2023 Best Tall Building Award 400+ Meters
Guangxi China Resources Tower, a 403-meter-tall (1,322-foot-tall) skyscraper in Nanning, China, took home the top honor in the tallest building category at the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Awards Ceremony. Developed by CR Land, the 86-story tower totals 272,260 square meters, including the 320-key Shangri-La Nanning hotel, 172,740 square meters of office space and 5,930 square meters of retail.

Global architecture firm Goettsch Partners (GP) announces the completion of Guangxi China Resources Tower, a new 403-meter-tall (1,322-foot-tall) skyscraper in Nanning, China, that is also the city’s tallest building. Developed by CR Land, the 86-story landmark tower totals 272,260 square meters, composed of the 336-key Shangri-La Nanning hotel, 172,740 square meters of office space and 5,930 square meters of retail.

This Chinese commercial building project utilises a simple elegant form. It is derived from the northern light, which creates the twisting shape of the 180m tall tower to form expressive double-curved surfaces on the building façades. Vertical lines accentuate the minimalistic form and through the effect of reflection and refraction from the glass create a design statement that celebrates light as the major tool to define architecture.

Located in between the East 4th-5th Ring Road of Beijing City, Dongfeng park is suburban city park that functions as one part within the first defensing green belt safeguarding the Beijing City. With its municipal division in Jiangtaiwa village, Dongfeng Township, Chaoyang District, this office project in the Dongfeng park becomes an ideal working space for the designers.

This bold Chinese architectural project was commissioned by Kaihua County Urban Construction and Development Co., Ltd. to design a comprehensive office building with three functional requirements: the Urban Archives and the Civil Defense Command Center and the Housing and Construction Bureau at the entrance of the scenic spot. The project has a superior geographical position.

The project consists of a cliffside building, designed and constructed into its surrounding mountain façade. The main structure has been completed, and designers have deconstructed and reconstructed its internal spaces with an infusion of architectural elements conducive to the topography, resulting in the creation of a rich architectural, urban space.

200-meter-tall building will be a city landmark between Guangzhou and Hong Kong. Architecture firm Goettsch Partners has designed the new Poly Business Tower in Shunde, China. Totaling 110,000 sqm, the project is one of several current assignments for Chinese developer Poly Real Estate (Group) Co., Ltd. Other office, hotel and mixed-use developments are located in the cities of Chengdu, Deyang and Guangzhou.

AS+GG’s winning entry was selected over competing schemes from firms based in the Netherlands, Japan and Hong Kong.
