Architecture in German Capital, Europe: Architectural Information + Images

e-architect feature a wide range of key buildings in the German capital city. The later 20th century is also covered, with the looming Alexanderplatz tower in the former East Germany, in other words beyond the wall for westerners pre-1989. I visited the city in 1990 on an architectural tour of Central and Eastern Europe.

Finally we feature contemporary buildings, notably the radical Jewish Museum Berlin building by Daniel Libeskind Architect which was a strong influence in Schools of Architecture in the early 1990s. The major architectural work of the Neues Museum
by London’s David Chipperfield Architects is a mature design by one of the world’s most celebrated architects offices. Also worth a visit are the Dutch Embassy by OMA and the Am Kupfergraben 10 by David Chipperfield Architects.
