Alexanderplatz tower
Up to the 1850s, this square was a military parade and exercise ground, as well as a place where local farmers sold their produce. It became a major transport junction when the railway station opened in 1882.

The Stadium has a capacity of around 72-74,000, though we understand 66,000 is the usual capacity. The building was refurbished from 2000-04 by a well-respected practice of German architects.

The structure was built with on site prefab cast concrete panels and poured ceiling slabs. It is an early example of plattenbau and high-rise residential buildings.

Altes Museum
Under General Director Ludwig Justi, the building was the first museum of Museum Island to undergo reconstruction and restoration. This work was carried out from 1951 to 1966 by Hans Erich Bogatzky and Theodor Voissen. Following Karl Friedrich Schinkel’s designs, the murals of the rotunda were restored in 1982.

Jewish Museum Berlin building
The Jewish Museum Berlin is one of the most spectacular museum buildings in Germany. This building has attracted 350,000 people even prior to its opening in Autumn 2001. This was the second building opened by architects Studio Daniel Libeskind (based in New York City, NY, USA); the first being the Felix Nussbaum Haus in Osnabruck, Germany.

In 1956, José M. Bosch, President of Ron Bacardí y Compañía approached Mies to commission the design of a new office space. He was particularly interested in a very open plan, and the relatively simple idea Mies came up with involved a square roof plate supported on each side by two columns.

This celebrated Modern structure appears in most architectural guides for the 20th century. Architect Peter Behrens was appointed by the German Electricity Company as artistic consultant in 1907.

Brandenburger Tor is an 18th-century neoclassical monument built on the orders of Prussian king Frederick William II after the temporary restoration of order during the Batavian Revolution. It is located in the western part of the city centre of Berlin within Mitte, at the junction of Unter den Linden and Ebertstraße, immediately west of the Pariser Platz.
