So far, the 10th edition of the Architecture Biennale Rotterdam, about the architecture of change, has set a great many things in motion. Listen, for example, to the podcast episodes presented by Tracy Metz and co-hosted by Saskia van Stein (episode 1), Derk Loorbach (episode 2) and Véronique Patteeuw (episode 3).
Although the movement will not stop after the final exhibition weekend, we will conclude this anniversary edition in a festive way. On 11, 12 and 13 November we will once again pull out all the stops to present a substantive and festive program with contributions from curators, makers and performers.

The Exhibition
IT’S ABOUT TIME – The Architecture of Change consists of three architecture exhibitions at two nearby venues in Rotterdam.
The title IT’S ABOUT TIME refers to the increasing pressure of time: to counteract the effects of climate change, we have to act quickly. The exhibition draws attention to social issues and their solutions, in the form of more than 150 inspiring practical examples by architects and designers from around the world. In this video, an impression. The Ferro hosts the main exhibition, IT’S ABOUT TIME, and the largest model of the Netherlands created by the Ministry of Make! The Keilepand accommodates the youth exhibition FUTURE GENERATON – This is 2072.

Making City Istanbul is the last exhibition of the 5th IABR: Making City. The exhibition is part of Musibet, the main exhibition of the first Istanbul Design Biennial that opens on 10 October at the Istanbul Modern Museum.
Inspired by the IABR’s approach, Turkish architect Emre Arolat, the curator of Musibet, invited the IABR to present its working method and three key projects – the Test Sites in Rotterdam, São Paulo and Istanbul – in the form of a new, small exhibition: a ‘manual’ for the future of Istanbul.
