The Teatro Popular Oscar Niemeyer is located on the margins of the Guanabara Bay. It marks the beginning of the Caminho Niemeyer (Niemeyer Path).
The Popular Theater is one of the constructions that is part of the Niemeyer Path. Together with the Contemporary Art Museum (MAC) it makes up the cultural and touristic complex of the city of Niterói that was designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer.
It is the second largest architectonic complex being built in the Americas. The Teatro Popular is a fundamental part of the complex, and its program goes beyond theater, engaging art forms, with music, photography, dancing, painting, and leisure activities in a single place.

The Niterói Contemporary Art Museum (Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Niterói — MAC) is situated in the city of Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and is one of the city’s main landmarks. This Brazilian building was completed in 1996.
Designed by Oscar Niemeyer with the assistance of structural engineer Bruno Contarini, who had worked with Niemeyer on earlier projects, the MAC-Niterói is 16 meters high; its cupola has a diameter of 50 meters with three floors. The museum has a collection of 1,217 works from the art collector João Sattamini. A collection assembled since the 1950s by that collector, constituted by the second largest collection of contemporary art in Brazil.

“After just a few weeks listed on e-architect we were contacted by a new client.
The project suits us perfectly and I was amazed how the website created a new project so soon for us.
I’m delighted that we signed up with e-architect, which we should have done sooner.” Robert Ellis, Norton Ellis Architects
