Truro Residence, Western Australia – Modern Perth House

The Truro Residence, completed in 2019, demonstrates the enduring power of Hillam Architect’s design philosophy – to design and create stylish and imaginative buildings in which form and function work together in perfect partnership.

In this project, we worked closely with the client to create a luxury home that reflects not only an aesthetic, but their personality and lifestyle.

The building has continued to attract attention over the years for its combination of angular and curved geometric forms and the considered contrast with landscaping elements.

The use of a stripped palette and raw materials accentuate the textural and geometric choices – creating an exterior that constantly reveals itself anew as you move around it.

The raw concrete forms continue throughout the interiors, but the extensive use of strategic lighting and feature windows ensures a constant interaction with the environment that creates a palette drawn straight from nature.

The interiors are designed to match the client’s lifestyle – intimate entertaining spaces, ocean views and a pool area that is assured privacy by the wrap-around form of the bedroom and gymnasium wings.
