Manifesta 13 Marseille update
The current situation has an impact on the entire production chain of Manifesta 13 Marseille and therefore the date of opening that had been set in place.
Manifesta first and foremost wants to ensure that participants and team members are working safely towards the biennial and its three programmes, as well as having the necessary time and conditions in order to build these programmes properly and to maintain a high level of quality.
Manifesta’s staff, the Board and Artistic Team of Manifests 13 Marseille are currently investigating different scenarios in regard to new opening dates of the biennial, that were initially planned on the 7th of June for the public opening and on the 5th and 6th of June for press and professionals. After the 15th of April 2020, Manifesta will reanalyse the situation and aims to announce the new opening dates of the 13th edition of Manifesta.
Since last Monday the 16th of March 2020, Manifesta have temporarily closed down their two projects spaces in Marseille (Espace Manifesta 13 and Tiers QG) and have postponed all pre-biennial public events including the workshops of Le Tour de Tous les Possibles.
In addition to the exhibition has temporarily closed – Manifesta Revisited at Manifesta’s Headquarters in Amsterdam.

Médard and the Maritime Museums
The region has supported the towns in the financing of these cultural amenities. Benefiting from new funds, the two museums stand out from the rest because of the way their architecture has been restored – they are both diametrically opposite in historical terms – and because of the content of their respective collections.

A major gesture is not always needed. In further developing a campus that dates originally from the 1960s Dietmar Feichtinger shows that added value can be better achieved through restraint, carefully positioned cubes, and subtle facade rhythms than by the use of showy sculptural symbols.
