London mayor approves plans for Hounslow West housing
The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has approved plans for a mix of 176 affordable homes and social housing located on the Bath Road, Hounslow.
The transformative scheme was designed by Colwyn Foulkes & Partners for A2 Dominion and was previously granted planning consent by the London Borough of Hounslow in December 2017.
The site, which was previously home to a Morrisons supermarket and had been derelict for a couple years, will now be demolished as part of the proposals. There will also be space for an 8,000sq ft food store.
Senior Partner Nick Colwyn-Foulkes said;
“The Mayor has made it clear that tackling London’s housing crisis is his number one priority. Transformative developments such as this the one on the Bath Road will help provide a large number of much needed affordable homes. With 50% social housing and 50% intermediate tenures with the option to buy and rent.”
A report by the planners to the London Borough of Hounslow said:
“The proposed buildings are considered to be sensitively designed and located to ensure they do not detract from the character of the area.“
