Guatemala City, GUAT. –– February 7, 2023 –– Global Italian design icon Pininfarina is pleased to announce the groundbreaking of its Torre Carra luxury residential high-rise project in Guatemala City. In partnership with leading Guatemalan residential developer, Grupo San Siro, the project is slated for completion in 2024. Notably, ahead of the official groundbreaking on February 7, 2023, 100% of the units within the building are sold out. As the company’s first Central American project, Torre Carra applies Pininfarina’s signature approach to Guatemala’s cultural center with an embrace of sustainability and materiality that takes luxury to a new level.
Globally renowned for its values of elegance, purity and innovation, Pininfarina designed Torre Carra as a dynamic visual landmark in Guatemala City’s evolving skyline. Upon completion, the tower will be one of the city’s tallest buildings. Sharing Pininfarina’s principle of innovation, Grupo San Siro’s Executive Director, Luis Fernando Morales comments, “Embarking on this project with Pininfarina is monumental for Guatemala City. We wanted to create something that truly sets a new standard in the luxury real estate development space in Guatemala and in Central America. Torre Carra sets this tone, and we look forward to its unprecedented influence on the city upon its completion.”
Each element of the tower’s design activates the senses in an effort to inspire and foster a feeling of wellness and retreat. The organic fluidity of the building’s exterior is characterized by a curving facade featuring large inviting terraces. The interior exudes natural warmth as a result of Pininfarina’s expansive use of Italian Carrara marble. In addition to the definitive curvilinear design, Pininfarina placed a premium on natural light across all interior spaces; using glass as the primary façade material, units and communal areas warm with natural light.
“We are thrilled to see this project underway,” says Paolo Trevisan, Vice President of Design at Pininfarina of America, the design studio which oversees the firm’s work in the Americas from its Miami and NYC offices. “The energy of Guatemala City, our partnership with Grupo San Siro and the larger Central American real estate development arena continue to inspire our team. We look forward to the impact this innovative architecture project will have on Guatemala City and to expanding our presence in this inspiring country.”
Offering residents and their guests a full suite of on-site amenities, Torre Carra features a gym, electric scooter and bike station, parking garage, concierge, children’s playroom, pool and outdoor grilling area. Pininfarina also worked closely to integrate native plant material across the property to enhance the landscapes and outdoor environments.
