Luxury House in Hyères les Palmiers
Purchasers of this small villa of 80sqm modern style about 1960 are a couple with two young children ages, living in Paris and who want a second home by the sea.
The Villa M1 project was to enable the family to have three bedrooms, a genuine common bathroom, a nice breakfast kitchen, lounge and nice and consistent external living areas.
The project was to create a new floor on this modern villa in single DRC 1960, and a lap pool digging the existing terrace (single location permitted by the regulation).
The former “kitchen corridor” of 6m2 was completely broken to enlarge the bathroom is now a real piece of 12m2 with bath island, shower and double sinks.
The new kitchen is upstairs on the mezzanine in the extension authorized 40m2, with vacuum on the show.
It’s an open kitchen on the living room below and on the new terrace in IPE on the roof of the house. This kitchen is the new dining room of the villa, with stunning views of the island of Porquerolles in the south and on the tombolo and salt marshes to the north.
The elevation is wood frame and the roof does not weigh on the existing foundations. The existing bearing structure is made of stanchions grid steel and concrete beams.
This structure is extended to the same but with thinner sections, the steels studs are only 10cm diameter.
the South façade removing Upstairs allows disengage a beautiful wooden terrace of 95m2 on the old roof and made accessible.
This new stage is thus benefit the villa with a magnificent view of the islands of Hyères that the original house had not.
A North facade gateway uses the slope of the land to access one floor to another floor.
The vacuum produced between the DRC and the floor gives an impression of volume and real extent, also visible on the main facade without creating more surface area. This architectural solution also helps to visually connect the two levels: old and new.
Coated with white hydraulic lime. Joinery black anodized aluminum to resist corrosion by the sea. Flooring exotic wood floors. Guards steel body and stainless steel cables. polished concrete. The materials are noble, contemporary and timeless for good behavior in time.
