English text (scroll down to French):
RBC Mobilier celebrated its twentieth anniversary in 2007 by devoting a major exhibition to the furniture of Philippe Starck in its original showroom in Nîmes signed by the designer.
Franck Argentin, its founder, wanted to make each of his six stores a design manifesto by entrusting their architecture to Antonio Citterio (1995) and Piero Lissoni (2003) for those in Montpellier and to Christophe Pillet for that of Avignon ( 2001).
More than a point of sale, exhibitions in the form of tribute introduce customers, but also the public, to the furniture universes of prestigious architects and designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Ron Arad, Piero Lissoni, Alberto Meda, Jean Nouvel, Jean Prouvé, Philippe Starck, Jakob + MacFarlane, and recently Jean-Marie Massaud.
Since 2006, its new RBC Concept logistics base, built by C + D Architecture, offers with the shoiwroom Concept on Gallargues the unique Cash & amp; National carry of contemporary indoor and outdoor furniture.
Distributing Cassina, Knoll, Moroso, Vitra, Cappellini, Poltrona Frau, Vitra, Kartell and Poliform, its six addresses permanently offer enthusiasts the best of contemporary furniture and accessories collections.
Recent references prove it: The Arena, Lagardère, Médicréa, Ferrari, Médiathèques de Montpellier, Béziers, Villeuneuve-les-Avignon, the Pierre Mendès France high school with school furniture designed by Christophe Pillet etc.
2010 saw the laying of the first stone of the RBC Design Center in Montpellier, designed by Jean Nouvel, located between the new Town Hall and the future Museum of Contemporary Art in Port Marianne. 2011 will be the year of the opening … The work is underway.
