Expo Shanghai 2010, China : Knippers Helbig Advanced Engineering
The combination of the membrane structure, which has a surface of 65,000 m2 in total with a span of 100 m, and the six steelglass funnels of 45 m height, formed of a freeform double-curved framework, constitutes the landmark of the Expo Shanghai 2010 and demonstrates the result of a successful German-Chinese cooperation at the same time.
Rotating Hotel, Croatia – Solta Island Resort : Studio RHE

The new build marina and resort, just 35 minutes by boat from Split (2.5 hours flying time from London), rotates within the centre of an infinity-edged swimming lake that cascades down onto the hillside spa below. Guests will be treated to ever changing views over the Adriatic Sea, dramatic countryside and the Roman remains of a Diocletian fish farm.
Serpentine Pavilion 2010, London, England : Jean Nouvel
The vivid red building by Jean Nouvel consists of bold geometric forms, large retractable awnings and a freestanding wall that climbs 12m above the lawn, sloping at a gravity defying angle. It experiments with the idea of play in its incorporation of the French tradition of outdoor table-tennis and other games.
RS+Yellow Furniture building Münster, Germany : BOLLES+WILSON
This is the third BOLLES+WILSON building for the German-wide furniture chain RS+Yellow, an extension of the homebase storage and distribution centre by 7,000 sqm. The new rectangular building volume stands adjacent to the original 1992 corrugated aluminium warehouse.

Pearl River Tower, Guangzhou, China : SOM
Among the structural innovations are integrated wind turbines. These turbines, which are fed from funnel-like openings in the façade, are supported on floor slabs occurring within the opening zones and are laterally braced against the floor above.
