Zollverein School : SANAA
The School of Management and Design is the first new building constructed by SANAA in Europe. The building was completed in summer 2006. The School of Management and Design is a part of the former mine Zollverein reviving programme. Zollverein has been a part of UNESCO World Heritage List since December 2001. The revival programme is mainly focused on culture and design, and celebrated architects were invited to cooperate.

The transformation of a submarine base in Saint-Nazaire into a public space for contemporary arts and music The raw, impressive existing structure was transformed with minimal interference. The project consists of two elements: LiFE and VIP. The street traversing the entire base creates interaction between the bunker cells. The hall for the international centre for emerging art forms (LiFE) is a minimalistically equipped “Monospace”.

The tallest carved concrete skyscraper in the World at 414 m (1,358 ft).
The Al Hamra Tower is the tallest building in Kuwait and the 23rd tallest in the world. The structure was designed by architectural firms Skidmore, Owings and Merrill and Callison. Turner Construction was in charge of the tower’s construction.
