The project had to face two preliminary constraints: a surrounding area burdened by the aesthetic and cultural tradition of the Spanish row-house concept and, on the other hand, the plot’s exposure to solar radiation during the hottest months of the year.
Nordea Bank Office Building, Copenhagen, Denmark : Henning Larsen Architects

Henning Larsen Architects and a team consisting of Signal Architects and SLA Landscape Architects have won the competition for Nordea Bank’s new office building of 40,000 m2 in Ørestad North, Copenhagen, next to the premises of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation and the Concert Hall – Koncerthuset.
Institute for Contemporary Art VCU Richmond, Virginia, USA : Steven Holl Architects

Designed by architect Steven Holl, the multidisciplinary arts institution will serve as a catalyst for exhibitions, programs, research and collaboration, working with VCUarts, the top public university graduate arts and design program in the U.S.
University Senate Center Beer-Sheva, Israel : Chyutin Architects

It contains an office building, the Senate Hall, and an exhibition space. The office building, which faces the campus’s main entrance plaza, on the main lengthwise pedestrian axis, is shaped like a monolithic cube with sandstone cladding, and encloses a circular inner courtyard.
Centro Municipal de Servicios Sociales de Móstoles, Madrid, Spain : dosmasuno arquitectos

The programme of the new local Social Services Center in Móstoles is strongly conditioned by two facts: on the one hand, it hosts many identical spaces – single, unipersonal offices – and it is placed within a new, aseptic urban fabric – currently being developed – which features no constraints but the street network and the plot orientation.
China Mobile International Headquarters Campus, Beijing, China : LEO A DALY

China Mobile Ltd., one of the largest mobile telecommunications companies in the world, selected LEO A DALY to design three buildings at its new international headquarters campus in Beijing. In partnership with Local Design Institute WDCE, this architecture practice won a competition to design Phase 2, Plot B, of the campus.
