Colegio Bernadette Aravaca, Madrid, Spain : PO2 ARQUITECTOS

The architects decided to lean the new intervention to the existing building and, following instructions on the management of the college, maintain a parking area for the school bus across the street in order to avoid the appearance of areas difficult to control between the two buildings.
YOTEL New York, NY, USA : Rockwell Group

The 669 key YOTEL 42nd Street will be part of Related Company’s $800 million, 1.2 million square foot, 60 story LEED-Silver complex, which will also include residential units and a Frank Gehry designed Signature Theatre.

The heart of the house remains as an open central space which gathers the ground level deck and the swimming pool area. These four boxes integrate indoors and outdoors, relating private areas with the public ones.

Wrapped entirely in a cloak of glass, Victoria Tower stands like a lighthouse along the road between downtown Stockholm and the city’s airport. The 117.6-meter tower is marker for the Kista IT office park and for the conference center at the base of the tower, and a manifestation of the area’s high-tech profile.

Located on the former site of the Renault factories in Boulogne-Billancourt, the concerned project is part of the Trapèze Ouest, one of the sector of the operation Ile Seguin-Rives de Seine, amongst the most important emerging centres in Ile-de-France.
City Hall Nieuwegein, The Netherlands : 3XN Architects

Architecturally the building takes its point of departure from a central and bright atrium from where a sculptural staircase soars up through the building and connects the many diverse facilities – indeed facilities not normally found in a City Hall. By bringing together the local library, citizen service centre, café, cultural center and commercial spaces in the building, the City Hall fuses with a range of everyday activities.
Australian Institute of Architects Gold Medal winner : Lawrence Nield of BVN

Lawrence Nield, architect, planner – who led the Sydney Olympics master-plan team, teacher, writer and researcher, has been awarded the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) highest honour, the 2012 Gold Medal. According to the jury he has ‘made an outstanding contribution to architecture for over forty-five years.
Cove 6 House, Pezula, South Africa : SAOTA – Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects

The owner’s brief was to design a house inspired by its indigenous fynbos surroundings, which is part of the recently established The Cove, a Private Estate, with the Pezula Golf Estate as backdrop.
