In the great English tradition of distrust of the new followed by rapid assimilation into permanency and subsequent listing, Garsington’s design concept is driven by the need for it to be a completely demountable ‘temporary’ structure. Although it is supposed to be taken down every autumn, the landowner likes it so much he already suggested leaving it in place after the first season.

“Robin Snell and Bill Taylor formed their practice in 2011 and work from a studio in St John’s Wood, London. They have worked together since their time at Sheffield University School of Architecture, subsequently joining the office of Michael Hopkins, where they spent their formative years.”

This British architect practice is led by Robin Snell, ex Hopkins architects. Robin was the Project Architect on Schlumberger building in west Cambridge, and on the Glyndebourne Opera House for celebrated English architect Hopkins Architects, based in Hampstead, north west London.
