OMA has won the competition to design the new Parc des Expositions (PEX) in the innovation zone of Toulouse, southern France. PEX is conceived as a new gateway to the city and will host exhibitions, conferences, and concerts. The 338,000m2 project is designed to be a compact mini-city.

OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture) and Ole Scheeren announced that Ole Scheeren will be leaving OMA architects in order to establish his own architects studio. During his time at Office for Metropolitan Architecture, Scheeren led several of OMA’s projects, including the design and construction of CCTV and TVCC in Beijing, the Prada Epicenters in New York and Los Angeles, the MahaNakhon tower in Bangkok and the Interlace in Singapore.By streamlining OMA’s Beijing operations, expanding its Hong Kong office, and placing both architects offices under the leadership of David Gianotten, general manager of OMA Asia, OMA believes it will be well positioned to offer its clients across Asia a strong and diversified portfolio of services.

OMA will continue to execute its numerous projects in Asia, including the masterplan study for the West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong, the Taipei Performing Arts Centre in Taiwan, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange and the Chu Hai College campus in Hong Kong.
