The project on Lindower Strasse in Berlin, designed by Holzer Kobler Architekturen Zurich/Berlin in cooperation with zweikant architekturen (Cologne), is based on the contemporary aspiration of planning and implementing architecture in a sustainable and context-related manner. With new residential and commercial units, existing commercial courtyards in the Berlin district of Wedding were repurposed and expanded, using timber hybrid construction methods.

PALÄON Research and Experience Centre, Schöningen, near Wolfsburg, Germany – 9 Jul 2013
photo : Jan Bitter
The PALÄON pushes itself out of the slightly hilly topography and cuts into the forested meadows. The volume of the three-story building and the paths emanating from it form lines of sight that divide the landscape into vectors. A second winding path system forms synapses that connect to the surroundings. The building is a camouflage – a hyperrealistic abstraction of the landscape.

Ispace Installation Rossa
Ispace is a project born out of an idea combining art and architecture in the creation of environments that stimulate people to perceive the influence of a space on their moods. It is a re-evaluation of the territory, allowing us to rediscover our bond with nature.

Weltpostpark residential buildings Bern
The last apartments in the SSA Architekten-designed Weltpostpark development are now occupied. The striking six-storey residential buildings have an urban feel about them, while the park-like surroundings and the varied clinker brick facades create a homely atmosphere.
