Coach House
The 45 sqm West Sussex property, was converted into a studio house via a multi-functional pod. This pod is part structure, furniture, storage, service core and stairs.

Full-height light sandstone colonnades are juxtaposed against industrial blackened steel recesses, floors, ceilings and walls. This forms a strong visual and material contrast – alluding to the graphic control of light and shadow as seen in typical Greek temple buildings.

Nick Leith-Smith specialise in high-quality, bespoke contemporary design, ranging from one-off furniture commissions to new-build private houses.
This architectural practice is now named Nick Leith-Smith Architecture + Design. It was founded in 2000 by Nick Leith-Smith with Kristina Hulsebus. He became a sole trader of DNA in 2009.

House for a Gardener, Haringey
A much-loved garden was central to our design of this side and rear extension for a Victorian mid-terrace house in the Stroud Green Conservation Area of Haringey. The project arranges a sequence of living spaces around the garden and an internal courtyard that gives constant connection to greenery.

Chelsea Georgian terraced house
The restoration and extension of a Cubitt-built Georgian terraced house in a conservation area. The Cloistered House was carefully given life having been left to ruin for many years.
