Manolo Blahnik Store Dublin : Brown Thomas Boutique
New Retail Interior Ireland design by Data Nature Associates architects
27 Jan 2009
Manolo Blahnik Dublin Store
Location: Manolo Blahnik – Brown Thomas, Dublin, Republic of Ireland
Date built: 2008
Design: Data Nature Associates
The first Manolo Blahnik shop in Ireland will be located in a dedicated corner of Dublin’s most prestigious department store, Brown Thomas. The appointed architects, Data Nature Associates, took inspiration from the local Georgian city and its industrial and craft heritage with the materials and fabrics in natural colours and hues to emulate the Irish countryside.
The design challenges the preconceptions of the grand Georgian living room by juxtaposing rough industrial finishes with a classic wallpaper pattern selected and released from the Cole & Son archive. This pattern is pushed in different directions and adapted depending on the material; relief cast concrete, water-jet cut blackened steel, etched glass and stitched linen panels.
The space will offer its inhabitants – the shoe – a playful yet refined setting to engage with its visitor; presenting itself in splendid rigour on the signature Hoffman stands, in casual elegance on the furniture and as delicate hanging wall displays.
