Civic appoints Sadie Morgan OBE to leadership team
14th of January 2026 – Civic, the team of system thinkers shaping the built environment, has appointed Sadie Morgan OBE as Non-Executive Director. The appointment brings one of the UK’s most influential built environment voices to Civic’s board, reinforcing its commitment to delivering places that transform lives and communities.
Morgan is widely recognised for her leadership in advancing design quality and her ability to influence shared agendas across the built environment. Her experience spans advisory roles at national level, including Commissioner at the National Infrastructure Commission (NIC), Board Member at Homes England, and Founding Director of Stirling Prize-winning architecture practice dRMM.
Civic has evolved from its roots as a leading engineering practice into a broader platform that integrates carefully curated complementary services across the built environment. Sadie’s ability to shape national conversations and open doors to influential networks will advance shared agendas and strengthen Civic’s voice, accelerating its ambition to deliver meaningful positive impact. Her expertise complements Civic’s passion for design-led thinking and climate resilience while offering a fresh perspective on how infrastructure and placemaking can deliver more for society.
Sadie Morgan, Non-Executive Director, said:
“Civic’s passion, vision and authenticity resonate strongly with me. Having stepped back from dRMM, I’m excited to take on advisory roles that allow me to make a difference. Civic’s ambition to grow, and its care for people and place, align perfectly with my own belief that the built environment should transform lives. I look forward to being a critical friend to the leadership team – challenging, supporting and amplifying the great work Civic is already doing.”
Stephen O’Malley, Chief Executive of Civic, said:
“Civic is evolving, and our offer is diversifying and strengthening. As we enter the next phase of Civic’s growth, it was a natural step to review the diversity and expertise of our board. Sadie brings fresh energy, expansive thinking, diplomacy and a rich pedigree of effecting positive change that will help us be the best version of ourselves. Her perspective will accelerate our progress and enhance our ability to deliver meaningful impact across the built environment.”
Operating out of studios in London, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dublin, Civic’s ambitions have always gone beyond traditional engineering. An early adopter of climate resilience, the company has built a reputation for integrating sustainability and system thinking into its projects. Morgan joins a strong leadership board that includes Executive Chair Dominic Miller, CEO Stephen O’Malley, COO Julian Broster and CFO Simon Edwards.
Civic’s leadership structure reflects its ambition to scale responsibly while maintaining its values of collaboration, climate responsibility and positive impact. The firm is committed to maintaining its unique people focused culture – one that values long-term relationships, and a belief that financial strength should be a means to a greater purpose, not the end goal itself.
