The judges were bowled over by the spectacular location within the AONB, high up on the coastline offering views to the sea and with a magnificent stand of mature pine trees within the garden. This is a replacement house which is larger and relocated forward in the site to maximise on the sea views.

Working in collaboration with ISG, ARUP, and Austin Smith Lord, HLM Architects has developed a design concept for a new joint education campus in the Fairwater area of Cardiff, Wales. The development will form a fully inclusive state-of-the-art campus for over 2,000 pupils and staff, which will also offer comprehensive facilities to the wider community outside of school hours.

Hyde + Hyde Architects is delighted to have received planning for a new home within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, West Wales, UK. This new Welsh property emerges from a sloped landscape facing the Irish Sea. The site holds within it a natural and powerful architectural promenade.

Techniquest Cardiff is one of the UK’s longest established science centres, having been in the existing building since 1995, the decision was made to transform the building. HLM Architects‘ design has created a new modern environment and provided over 1,000 sqm of additional exhibition and commercial hire space, almost doubling the size.

Scott Brownrigg’s design for the Museum of Military Medicine has received planning approval from Cardiff Council. The Museum of Military Medicine, currently based in a barracks in Hampshire, is set to move to Britannia Park off Harbour Drive, opposite the Norwegian Church in Cardiff Bay.

Cardiff Waterside, funded by Aviva Investors, has been granted planning consent for a new development at its estate in Cardiff Bay. Leading architect Holder Mathias has been appointed to design the three buildings that constitute the new development, which includes a new 210-bedroom Premier Inn hotel and two speculative Grade A office developments totalling 160,000 sq ft.

Maggie’s has announced it is to build a Centre at Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff.
The partnership between Maggie’s and Velindre NHS Trust will benefit thousands of people living with cancer in Cardiff and the surrounding area.
Architects Dow Jones has agreed to design the Centre and is currently in talks with the Trust and Maggie’s to find a suitable site.
