The different spaces are connected to a flexible movement within the axis of outdoor and indoor functions. The smaller bathroom and kitchen unit acts as a kicker stabilizing the wooden structure during the frequent typhoons and earthquakes.

The site for the new headquarter building is close to the edge of Kaohsiung Bay, separated from the water by an area of public realm. The brief called for a building which offers generous views across the harbour and which sits on a north/south axis to maximise frontage to the sea.

Towns developed into a generic industrial city fabric without adequate public spaces. Currently, the strong brand of ‘Made in Taiwan’ is in the process of being restored to its former glory. The cities urgently need pleasant urban space to help regenerating inner-city districts.

The space on the first floor will be open plans, in which partitions of horizontally arranged plants on hydro-gel will divide them. The bathroom will have a 5 meters tall green wall of vertical garden.
House of Music Taipei

The skin of the house is treated as a sheet of music. The windows form its own rhythm and texture without any hierarchy of room sizes or uses, while the construction joints of the wood molds articulates staff-like horizontal lines on the concrete tower.
Hsinchu City

Hsinchu City
Mole Architects and Gianni Botsford Architects have won approval to proceed on a large development in Taiwan, Hsinchu City, following the success of their masterplan and concept for a hillside resort. The developer clients have chosen the Mole/GBA scheme over 6 other designs by architects including Arup, John Heah, and Japanese firm KKS.
