New Stockholm Architecture – Key Buildings

The building is an image of the content. A home for the fashionistas, who shall be catched like flies by light. No random additions were to disturb the tailored design. Shiny white letters in the red sky is the only exposure of the companies inside.

Tellus Nursery School, Telefonplan, southwest Stockholm building design by Tham & Videgård Arkitekter:

A semi-enclosed entrance courtyard constitutes a first exterior space for parents and children meeting and leaving. The organic layout of the Tellus Nursery School encourages movement as space becomes continuous and creates both exterior and interior rooms of challenging shapes.

KTH-School of Architecture Building building design by Tham & Videgård Hansson Architects:
School of Architecture in Stockholm
The new school is inserted into an existing courtyard space with existing pathways. The structure is located adjacent to Erik Lallerstedt’s original and monumental brick buildings from the early twentieth century. Based on the logic of a free campus layout that encourages movement, the idea is to accommodate and encourage circulation within the building and all around it.

Sven-Harry’s Art Museum Stockholm building designed by Wingårdh Arkitektkontor AB
Sven-Harry’s Art Museum
The double functions of the building – housing and culture – work independently of each other, with separate entrances to Eastmanvägen. The ground floor houses galleries, a café and exhibition rooms. The exhibition spaces are placed in the basement and core, with housing in the perimeter on the upper floors.
