Câmara Municipal – Trofa Town Hall, northern Portugal

Until 2022, Trofa held the unique distinction of being the only municipality in Portugal without a town hall. Despite its historical roots tracing back to the Roman Empire, this small industrial city only achieved administrative autonomy in 1998.

The new Moreira de Cónegos Health Center, in Guimarães from a volumetric point of view, is based on the shape of a “star of life”, an international symbol for medical services and equipment, clearly identifiable with the public health function.

Ground has been broken on two new waterfront hotels, designed for Mercan Properties, in the popular Portuguese city of Lagos, in the Algarve. The two hotels are branded by Hilton as Lagos Marina Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn Lagos.

This Portuguese architecture project is born from the rehabilitation of the mansards of a 19th-century building with patrimonial value, located at the top of 8 de Maio Square, in the heart of Figueira da Foz. Facing the river, the building, with three floors and an attic, occupies a privileged position in the old town.

The land is located between the beginning of the urban tissue and of Barra beach´s dunes – Ilhavo, given its location, the project is based on absorbing all the characteristics present in the place, personifying the horizontality present in the horizon line is the concept for the building, which translates into the blades created around the main body.
