Fortress, Bizzi & Partners, And Bilgili Set To Unveil The Newly Renamed “the Greenwich By Rafael Viñoly”

912-foot-tall Downtown Manhattan skyscraper has resumed construction and will be named in honor of the late architect

NEW YORK, NY – Development partners Fortress Investment Group LLC, Bizzi & Partners, and Bilgili today announced the luxury residential building previously known as 125 Greenwich Street has been renamed to The Greenwich by Rafael Viñoly, honoring the late architect. The Greenwich by Rafael Viñoly is among the world-renowned architect’s final roster of notable, and tallest, projects designed for New York City. The development team also announced construction for the building resumed earlier this year and is expected to be completed in 2024.

“My father loved people. He was endlessly curious about how they live their lives and how the spaces he designed for them could contribute to their sense of well-being. The Greenwich is designed to elevate the human experience in a building that celebrates its unique location in the greatest city in the world,” said Román Viñoly, son of Rafael Viñoly and Director of Rafael Viñoly Architects.

The 88-story tower, located in downtown Manhattan, also features interiors by critically acclaimed firm MAWD. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing is exclusively handling sales and marketing for the project, which will launch sales in early 2024.

“Rafael Viñoly was a visionary, whose thought-provoking and innovative architecture has left an indelible mark throughout the world. His buildings are testaments to his forward-thinking approach, and we are proud to say that The Greenwich will be named after this legendary architect,” said Randall Shy, Managing Director, Fortress Investment Group LLC.

Rafael Viñoly saw the building as an opportunity to be defined by its structure, slender and tall, and inspired by its exceptional surroundings. With this architectural and structural approach to design, the building features an exposed concrete column that runs throughout the height of the building and a unique curved glass facade.

“As we work to complete construction on The Greenwich by Rafael Viñoly, we are thrilled to be writing an exciting new chapter for this building, which will soon welcome buyers as we launch sales early next year. The combination of thoughtfully designed residences, curated amenities, and its premiere location is an attractive offering for discerning buyers and we are thrilled to be working with Douglas Elliman Development Marketing on this launch,” said Davide Bizzi, CEO, Bizzi & Partners.

“The Greenwich by Rafael Viñoly is a standout project for the downtown Manhattan luxury market. Demand for luxury residential property continues to be strong, but it has become increasingly important to meet evolving demands for bespoke design and singular built experiences. We are immensely excited to announce this new brand that captures the elegance and sophistication of the building and serves as Bizzi+Bilgili’s inaugural project under our new entity in the US and Europe,” said Serdar Bilgili, Chairman, Bilgili.

The Greenwich by Rafael Viñoly will feature 272 residences, ranging from studios to three-bedroom and a suite of penthouse residences, many with panoramic views of the Hudson River, Statue of Liberty, World Trade Center, and New York City skyline. Pricing starts at $1.115 million. For the interiors, MAWD created homes offered in three distinct interior finish palettes utilizing high-end finishes and refined details that are inspired by the building’s one-of-a-kind views. The residences embrace light and air from every floor and provide a range of astonishing vantage points from which to marvel at the city and its many icons.

Additionally, over 27,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor leisure, health, and wellness amenities are spread across four floors. The building’s contemporary take on city living is exemplified by the sky-high amenity floors that occupy the top three floors of the tower’s crown, perched over 800′ in the sky. Luxurious amenities like a lap pool, spa and fitness center will provide an elevated, exclusive private club experience that takes advantage of the sweeping vistas unlike any other in the city.

The building’s Downtown location is centrally located a block from One World Trade Center, the Santiago Calatrava-designed Oculus, and the recently opened Ronald O. Perelman Center for the Performing Arts.

For Douglas Elliman, Stacy Spielman will lead the team as Director of Sales with Andrew Anderson, Gail Sankarsingh and Victor Barbenès rounding out the team.

“The Greenwich is masterfully designed by Rafael Viñoly and is a distinctive modern addition to one of New York City’s most captivating neighborhoods, complemented by stunning views,” said Susan de França, President and Chief Executive Officer, Douglas Elliman Development Marketing. “We are excited to present this outstanding offering early next year.”

A joint venture between Time Square Construction and Plaza Construction, one of the nation’s foremost construction management and general contracting firms, is completing the project.
