Turn House Extension
Design: Rebecca Naughtin Architect
Location: Fitzroy North, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Turn House is a small, single storey extension to an existing single fronted Victorian residence in North Fitzroy.
The brief involved providing new living areas within the confines of a small site with curve in the boundary to rear laneway. The design maximises the potential of the site by using the curve internally and externally, forming a brick feature wall with pattern and dimension externally, and smooth and bright internally.
The curve is replicated in detail such as the design to the clerestory windows. The kitchen has been designed to allow a chef or pâtissier to work confidently and there is an abundance of controllable light.
