What Milan’s Fashion District Designer Created For His Los Angeles Home!
Formerly a gritty industrial zone, Milan’s Zona Tortona has become a lively enclave filled with independent fashion studios and boutiques. Where the movers and shakers of the fashion world, celebrities such as Rihanna, Rita Oro, Sharon Stone and Anna Wintour, recently attended Milan Fashion Week. And where the most important fashion design companies create and show off their newest trends.
The Zona Tortona neighborhood’s dramatic transformation is the work of Los Angeles-based developer Alessandro Cajrati Crivelli, who also developed the Manhattan building that houses New York’s own Fashion Week. Head of investment and development firm Estate Four and founder of luxury co-working space and social club Spring Place, Crivelli is responsible for developing several notable celebrity residences, including a Holmby Hills mansion that was home to Jay-Z and Beyoncé and a building in London that hosted Tom Ford.
In 2015, the visionary developer collaborated with world-renowned architect Felicity Bell to construct a custom-built contemporary estate at the end of a cul-de-sac in LA’s highly-coveted lower Bel-Air.
Originally listed for $43 million in 2019, the residence is now being offered for sale at $38.5 million. The ultra-private, ultra-luxurious compound includes an acre and a quarter of landscaped grounds and a meticulously crafted 12,282-square-foot mansion with seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms.
Nestled behind modern gates, a private driveway lined with mature trees leads up to the mansion. The home is entered through a sky-lit gallery that leads into an expansive open-floor-plan space with 20-foot ceilings and a dual fireplace that divides the living and dining rooms. High ceilings, blonde hardwoods, and plenty of windows throughout the home provide a clean, contemporary aesthetic.
Floor-to-ceiling electric glass doors let in tons of natural light and seamlessly connect the indoor and outdoor entertainment zones. A sprawling lawn, spectacular infinity pool, outdoor dining and lounging areas, plus an expansive motor court provide plenty of opportunities for hosting guests in style, while state-of-the-art smart home technology keeps everything running smoothly.
The residence includes both a custom chef’s kitchen with professional-grade appliances and a second prep kitchen attached to the formal staff quarters. The spacious office with its own en-suite and custom artist’s studio are perfect for the creative types. The wellness center features a full-size indoor lap pool. The master suite takes advantage of its second-story location to showcase incredible city views. Dual walk-in closets and an opulent bath complete the experience.
Bel Air is one point of LA’s Platinum Triangle, which includes Beverly Hills and Holmby Hills. Consistently ranked among the world’s most expensive neighborhoods, it is known for its one-of-a-kind mansions and celebrity residents. Although Bel Air proper is almost entirely residential, the estate is convenient to the Bel-Air Country Club, the famous shopping district at Rodeo Drive, and UCLA and accessible to LAX, Downtown LA, and Hollywood. Just a few of its illustrious neighbors include Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Kylie Jenner, and Jennifer Lawrence.
