Breaking new ground with London’s first ever women’s only private members’ club is Studio RHE’s Grace Belgravia. Newly opened, the exclusive club is for health-conscious women who want the very best in therapeutic and medical treatments. Members can treat themselves to workout sessions with celebrity personal trainer, Matt Roberts, and be treated by the Queen’s doctor, Dr Tim Evans.

Sauna at Grace Belgravia, Private Members Club:
The 11,500 sq. ft. site accommodates various facilities, including a gym; restaurant and bar; library; nine treatment rooms; a wet heat experience; herbal sauna and tepidarium – a warm bathroom heated by an underfloor heating system.
Situated on the first and mezzanine floors within a beautiful grade-two listed Georgian building in Belgravia, the interior of the club captivates a harmonious combination of classical and contemporary design. The new design is internal and sensitive to its surrounding.
Respectful of original features, Studio RHE limited demolition to the reopening of existing apertures resulting in minimal structural change.
Originally open in plan, all spaces are new. The flooring at mezzanine level was extended to provide treatment rooms at upper level and to maximise natural light entering at this height.
A one-storey office is inserted into the two-storey south side double height space. Designed with space on all sides, the office gives the effect of a sculptural object, ‘floating’ within the space rather than filling the volume.
Silver birch branches line the wall of the dry flotation room, creating an unusual thermal experience and an ideal setting to unwind and recuperate. Located between the wet area and dry flotation room, a stunning atrium space can be used by members to host private parties. Double-vaulted ceilings in the hamam are reminiscent of original dome ceiling designs in Turkish baths.
Throughout, Grace is furnished with bespoke designs and elegant materials. Tin ceilings and stainless steel glass doors with beveled glass compliment the classical features with a modern touch. Leather door handles with stitching on the inside add to the sense of luxury as the stitching can be felt but not seen. Reclaimed Versailles tiling is used to reclad the floor in the hallway. Other luxury materials include marble, hand-painted wallpaper with silver leaf and wood paneling.

The works are designed to touch the existing fabric very lightly. The club makes good use of the building and reveals very enjoyable spaces to an increased audience and makes an interesting addition to the immediate neighbourhood.
You can find the club at: 11A West Halkin Street, London W1. Enquiries at www.gracebelgravia.com.
Full membership: £5,500 per year; overseas membership: £3,500 per year.
